“Taking time to work on the business instead of in the business is always useful.”
Ian Sarson is Executive Coach at Empower U Coaching Ltd and a mentor on the Help to Grow: Management course. He discusses how business leaders can benefit from taking part in the course.
As a mentor for the Help to Grow: Management Course, what’s your previous experience of developing leadership skills and helping businesses grow?
I have been Group Managing Director of a FTSE 25 Company, leading a continuous growth ambition for more than 14 years. For the past 4 years, I have moved into coaching and consultancy and work with many of my clients on the subject of growth.
How will you help mentor business leaders on the Help to Grow: Management course?
We can provide a dispassionate view for business leaders and a safe space to test thinking. By providing a different perspective and sense checking proposals, we can be additive to the leaders thinking and share our experiences and ideas.
What do you hope the Help to Grow: Management Course will achieve?
Help to Grow should equip leaders with the tools and confidence to look at their current situation and chart a deliverable path to future success and growth for their organisations.
Why should business leaders register for the Help to Grow: Management Course?
Taking time to work on the business instead of in the business is always useful. Leadership can often be a lonely place and building a network of likeminded people in differing organisations is a useful way of gaining additional perspectives. The opportunity to be accompanied in this with a mentor provides additional support.
How would you summarise the benefits of the course in three words?
Tools, process, and confidence.
