The centre was founded in 1998 to bring together key interest in the voluntary sector in two different parts of the University.

Alaster Yoxall
I have been involved in the 'Inclusive Design' of packaging for a little over 12 years. I was the UK's technical expert in the development of ISO 17480 Packaging Accessibility guidelines. Further, I have extensive experience in measuring people's capabilities, observing people opening packaging and developing solutions. I am currently involved in a number of projects working with academia, business and healthcare professionals to improve packaging accessibility.
Charlotte Coleman
My teaching interests are focused around children’s development, particularly cognitive development, and developmental research methods. I also teach Forensic psychology, focusing particularly on witness evidence and children’s engagement with the law and law services.
Joanne Robson
Bioanalytical science
Within the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre, the Bioanalytical Science Group (incorporating the Centre for Mass Spectrometry Imaging) carries out applied and multidisciplinary research related to the analysis of chemical and biological species in a variety of matrices.
Plasma and surface engineering
PhD applications are welcomed from candidates wishing to conduct research on plasma and surface engineering in the National High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering (HIPIMS) Technology Centre.
