Course summary

This course is suitable whether you'd like to formalise your experience with a postgraduate qualification, or if you'd like to upskill or cross skill into a new area. 

This course meets the digital and technology solutions professional apprenticeship standard.

How you learn

You will attend University for a total of 17 days on campus, spread over two years. There are also a series of online support sessions. You'll accelerate your technical proficiency while developing team-building, leadership and management abilities. 

You will learn through: 

  • work-based projects
  • taught modules
  • evaluating technology designs
  • software engineering or data analytics tasks
  • team management 

You will progress through the course following successful achievement of assessments, which address the learning outcomes for each module and allow you to complete the course.

You will also complete an endpoint assessment towards the end of the apprenticeship.

Campus facilities

You'll study at City Campus, with industry standard computing packages, tools and hardware – plus a specialist networking lab for laboratory exercises and individual project work.

Entry requirements

Apprentices can be existing employees looking to develop their careers, or new applicants to the business.

Applicants must:

  • be over 18
  • not be in full time education
  • have the right to abode in the UK
  • meet the course entry requirements

University grades

An undergraduate degree in any subject, graded at 2:2 or above.

Modules

The programme adopts a blended learning approach with modules delivered through a combination of lectures, practical work and independent study.

Throughout the course, you will study:

  • designing and developing software applications
  • software engineering practices
  • data analytics tools and techniques
  • advanced data management project
  • managing people, projects and teams
  • advanced practitioner inquiry
  • consultancy project
