Introduction

This module explores the principles and practice of formative and summative assessment within health and social care education.

You will examine inclusive assessment design, constructive alignment and feedback strategies that promote learner development and professional identity, while critically considering quality assurance processes and wider policy influences shaping educational practice.

What you’ll learn

You will learn how to design and evaluate inclusive assessment strategies that support learner progression and professional identity. Learning is applied to your professional context and supported by peer collaboration, critical discussion and reflective practice. Digital resources and formative feedback will support your development as a confident and inclusive educator.

  • Entry requirements

    Applicants should hold an honours degree or provide evidence of successful Level 6 study or equivalent professional experience. This module is designed for qualified health and social care professionals who are currently involved in teaching, supervision or educational development within practice or academic settings. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the capacity to study at Level 7 and to apply learning within their professional context.

  • Attendance

    Delivery Method:

    Synchronous online learning (distance learning). Take part in live, timetabled online sessions using tools like video calls and virtual classrooms. You’ll learn in real time with tutors and other students, with no need to attend campus for teaching or assessments.
