When Roopesh decided to study abroad, the UK was one of his top choices.

'The UK is known as an education hub with numerous opportunities for placements, Post Work Visa (PSW), and scholarships when compared to other countries, as well as being budget friendly.

'I chose to study MSc Automation Control and Robotics at Sheffield Hallam University because it provides suitable modules, excellent laboratories, and great academics. It's also in Sheffield, north-central England, where I think more businesses in my industry are located, making it easier to find work in the future.

'I liked that everything at Sheffield Hallam works in a systematic manner. Throughout the course, we are guided and supported by advisors, mentors, module leaders, and lab technicians. We also have access to cutting-edge teaching methods from tutors with extensive experience and strong links with the industry.

'I was chosen to be the Course Representative, and I've learned a variety of skills such as communicating students' feedback to the course leader and guiding them with the knowledge I've gained so far. This opportunity helped me develop my personal skills in communicating with and understanding students from various countries and backgrounds.

'As an international student, I had no trouble making friends because I'm an extrovert who enjoys exploring and meeting new people, as well as sharing ideas with them, which made my life easier here.

'My time at Sheffield Hallam University was fantastic. I learned how to connect with and understand people, as well as how to bring ideas to life. This experience will aid in my personal development and pave the way for my future journey.'
