Knowledge management

I joined the Hallam Centre for Community Justice in September 2002 to implement the Community Justice Portal - a web-based tool for connecting, informing and training criminal justice practitioners. I was appointed as senior lecturer in knowledge management in criminal justice in March 2006 with a remit to develop research, consultancy and professional development services in the area of knowledge management, specifically related to the criminal justice sector.

I am an experienced knowledge manager with 20 years experience in knowledge and information management. My background is mainly in the private sector where I have held senior posts in knowledge management across a range of industry sectors, including chief knowledge officer for a UK investment bank and global knowledge manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consultancy practice.

As a knowledge manager I have been responsible for defining and implementing knowledge management strategies to facilitate working across geographical and organisational boundaries. My particular focus has been in defining and implementing processes and systems to capture knowledge and best practice leading to improved business performance.
