Nichola Cadet established eNgender Associates in 2007, following a successful decade working in the public and voluntary sectors in strategic and operational management roles.
Nichola's work experience focused on community safety and criminal justice, with a particular interest in resettlement issues and gender. Nichola had a unique opportunity to further her interest in these areas when she became programme director of Women into Work in 2006. This innovative programme utilised peer research methodologies to identify and challenge barriers to employment, training and education for women in the criminal justice system, and, uniquely, to commission pilot projects to test out the research recommendations, empowering women to participate in at all levels of the partnership.
Nichola established, led and developed a national partnership comprising partners in the National Probation Directorate, Prison Service, Home Office, and national and local voluntary sector providers. Nichola also developed partnerships with projects working in Europe, disseminating project outputs and outcomes.
As a member of South Yorkshire Probation Board, Nichola is responsible for working with the chief officer to direct strategy, hold the performance of the staff to account, develop partnership working and ensure equality and diversity is mainstreamed.
As a consultant, Nichola has managed a range of projects focused on reducing exclusion, ensuring that work produced leads to practical recommendations and provides support to organisations to take those recommendations forward.
