Refugee Rights Hub

Refugee Rights Hub

The Refugee Rights Hub, based in the Helena Kennedy Centre at Sheffield Hallam University's Collegiate Campus, was fully established in September 2018. Since our launch, we have supported over 1000 family members from all over the world in making applications to join loved ones in the UK.

The Hub trains undergraduate and postgraduate students to work alongside qualified OISC registered immigration and asylum specialists, helping refugees navigate the complex processes and procedures for making family reunification applications. Where the Hub is unable to offer assistance, we refer clients to partners or other relevant organisations.

The Refugee Rights Hub was established in recognition of the fact that there were major gaps in legal advice and assistance following the withdrawal of Legal Aid, that made access to essential immigration services impossible for large numbers of potential applicants.

The service offered by the Hub is free of charge.

As a university-based law clinic, students undertake important work to assist clients under supervision of qualified staff.

Contact details for the Hub

Please refer to the Refugee Rights Hub website for more information and contact details. In the first instance, all refugees seeking our help should send us details on the dedicated referral form.
