Summary
As University Secretary and Clerk to the Board, Clair reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor and has overall leadership of university governance, legislative and regulatory compliance and assurance within the Directorate of Governance, Legal and Compliance which includes Governance & Secretariat, Legal Services and Health and Safety Services.
With accountability to the Vice-Chancellor and Chair of the Board, Clair is responsible for providing expert guidance and advice to ensure that the University operates effectively and efficiently within the parameters of its governance, legal and regulatory responsibilities.
Clair has been a practising solicitor for 23 years, joining the University in 2016 and holding internal roles including University Solicitor, Head of Legal Services and Deputy University Secretary prior to her appointment as University Secretary in 2024
