Alex Chaggar BA(Hons), MA, FHEA

Lecturer in Criminology, Human Rights & Social Justice

Summary

Within the Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice, I have been involved in a number of research projects promoting human rights, social justice and gender equality both nationally and internationally; including projects in India, South Africa and Lesotho.

About

I studied Criminology for my undergraduate degree at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU). I also studied for my masters degree at SHU completing the MA in Applied Human Rights. I joined SHU as a Senior Administrator before progressing in a Project Officer role, both in the Department of Law & Criminology. I then began my role as Lecturer in Criminology, Human Rights & Social Justice in 2019. Prior to my role(s) at SHU I worked at a crime prevention charity (PUAC) which involved working on a number of projects funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Primarily, I worked on the Business Crime Reduction Centre project in partnership with the North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Humberside Police forces.
