I taught for 18 Years as a 11-18 Secondary English, Drama and Media Studies teacher - 16 of those as Head/ Second in large English Departments . During most of this time I also mentored initial teacher trainees.
I started at Sheffield Hallam University as Partnership Coordinator in 2000 then Head of Partnership. In addition to leading the considerable expansion of our partnership with schools, I led on promoting quality mentoring within the partnership through recognising formally the skills and expertise required for ITT/ NQT mentoring: for example, two day Advanced Mentor' conferences; the innovative M level Mentor Accreditation scheme and the PgCert Mentoring and Coaching.
Moving to the masters programme, I played a key part in leading the MTL delivery as Phase 1 and 3 leader.
My special expertise is working at masters level with practising teachers at all levels, phases, length of years in service including international teachers.
I am currently working on the Teach First and Primary PGCE courses
