Angie Banks RN, RNT, DipPNS, BMedSci (Hons), MA (Ed)
My clinical background is in acute and emergency care and I am passionate about pre and post- registration education and CPD. The latter has always been a major part of my academic career and one that I relish due to the challenges that it offers to meet the professional aspirations of practitioners and the needs of service providers and service users.
My main teaching interests lie within acute care. I am also involved in teaching practical skills, including Life Support and Resuscitation training to both pre and post registration students. I am an experienced module leader within the pre-registration curriculum, as part of this role I have been actively involved in developing, designing, validation and delivering programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and international studies.
I am the Course leader for the Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice that has a mixture of core and elective modules and is accessed by students from multi- professional advanced practice backgrounds.
I am module leader for the Level 7 Managing Minor Injury Management and Adult Intermediate Trauma modules. I also teach on the Minor Illness Management and Advanced Physical Assessment and Consultation Skills modules. I also act as an academic advisor for students under taking the Advanced Physical Assessment and Consultation Skills and Minor illness management Module. I also teach on the pre and post graduate paramedic modules
I also deliver teaching on the undergraduate BSc Nursing programmes including Consolidating Science and Life Support and Resuscitation training.
