Dr. Ania de Berg

Dr Anna de Berg

Senior Lecturer in Intercultural Studies

Summary

I came to Sheffield Hallam University in 2013 after having taught at universities in Germany, Poland and the UK, including the University of Sheffield, University of York and Leeds Beckett University. My research interests encompass intercultural communication and cross-cultural management. More recently, I have also become interested in didactics, especially the classroom use of technology and modern media as well as work-based learning. As a teacher, I aim to communicate my own enthusiasm to my students and help them become confident communicators across cultures as well as accomplished leaders in the global workplace. I am also course leader of the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeships (CMDA Open Access). I won 4 SHU Inspirational Teacher as well as an Outstanding Academic Advisor Award. My publications include a monograph on German-language travel literature and a co-edited volume on remembrance in Austrian literature and film.
