About

After initialling specialising in Children and Families with a focus on child protection, I have spent the majority of my career working with Adults with Learning Disabilities. Having completed several years as a first line manager (supported living service for adults with LD), I have over 10 years experience working as the Operations manager at a national charity, directing the supported living and residential management team across Sheffield and Derbyshire. I specialised in performance management issues including disciplinaries and grievances, team building, inspections/audits, recruitment/selection and co-ordinating the regional training programme. During that time it was critical to apply a multi-disciplinary approach, forging relationships with LA Safeguarding teams, CQC, Skills for Care and other relevant agencies.

I then transitioned to Head the Leadership and Management programme, managing the learning and Development team whilst designing and delivering training to over 300 leaders and Managers with a focus on people leadership. I was the national lead for the Care Certificate and founder of the national standardisation programme working closely with NHS England/Skills for care, speaking at their annual conference.

I have led teams of all shapes and sizes across all levels of management, from first line to senior directors. My passion is supporting people to reach their potential and to be the leaders they want to be!
