Summary
I am involved in supporting the Athena SWAN and Employability agendas in the department. These reflect my teaching and research areas of interest around leadership and workforce development with a focus on creating the conditions for individuals to flourish and reach their full potential. Additionally I am UK Business Development Lead for the Department, actively marketing and promoting our CPD products and services.
About
I have an extensive range of education; project management; research and evaluation skills, and a proven track record in implementing new strategic roles and functions that require substantial culture shift and workforce engagement. For example, I led the Sheffield Hallam University Team who developed the NHS Yorkshire & The Humber Prevention and Lifestyle Behaviour Change Competence Framework for Making Every Contact Count (MECC) that has been widely adopted across the NHS in England.
I have a varied portfolio of responsibility in the Department, including Business Development; employability, staff engagement, mentorship and staff development. I am also the line manager for our dedicated team of Associate Lecturers.
My teaching activity is mainly focused on interprofessional education and encompasses both pre & post graduate delivery including dissertation supervision.
Teaching
I am a member of the teaching team for the Undergraduate Interprofessional Education (IPE) Modules. I also teach on the 'Application of Critical Thinking and Reflection in Practice' CPD Module. In addition, I supervise masters dissertation students, and contribute to a number of our CPD courses, particularly around leadership and management; education and research.
Research
I am currently working on a project with Professor Jo Cooke at NIHR CLAHRC Yorkshire and Humber to evaluate the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Academic Internship for Non-Medical Clinicians, Post Masters Level. I am also part of a University team, evaluating the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme.
