David Alderson MSc, BSc
Course Leader for Advanced Clinical Practice Musculoskeletal Management, Senior Lecturer
Summary
I'm currently part-time working three days a week for Sheffield Hallam. I make up the rest in clinical practice leading a First-Contact Musculoskeletal team in a large Primary Care Network in York.
About
Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist, I have worked in three major NHS trusts in a range of responsibilities, but primarily within Musculoskeletal care. Prior to this I was a football coach at Development Centres and Centres of Excellence in the North East. I have been fortunate enough to teach in other education establishments and for the Football Association before arriving at Sheffield Hallam University.
I hold a strong interest in First Contact Practice, clinical reasoning and the construction and application of effective consultation.
