Summary

Gail joined MERI as a PGR Administrator in 2013. Prior to starting in MERI, Gail worked in IT for over 15 years providing project support, project planning and management of changes as part of a live support team.

  • About

    Gail is a member of the Postgraduate Research Administration Team, responsible for all student related enquiries. Her duties include PGR Student administration, admissions, enrolment and supporting existing MERI students. She, along with her job-share, Rachael Toogood, supports both new and existing MERI students in numerous ways. Gail has also worked part time in the STA Faculty Communications Team supporting faculty events and projects as well as maintaining internal blog sites and the faculty handbook.

    Gail also covers the MERI Administrative Officer role, responsibilities include organising short courses, including the Bridge Inspection Course, the Forensic Investigation of Lightbulbs Course as well as other events such as the MERI research symposium and Winter Poster Event.  Acting as the main contact for visiting researchers and for coordinating health and safety matters.

    Until the end of June 2019, Gail is covering the MERI Research Support Manager Role.  Responsible for Project bids, project support - pre and post award, research support, REF and other departmental activities across MERI, all of which are undertaken in conjunction and in support of research staff and students in the Institute.
