Lucie Nield MSc, MPhil, BSc, PGDip, RD, RNutr.

Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics; Co-lead for strategic research programme in systems, services and strategy

Summary

I hold a diverse role which involves teaching and leadership within the food and nutrition and dietetics teams; and a research role where I am the Co-Lead for the Strategic Research Portfolio in Systems, Services and Strategy at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC).

As the course leader for the MSc Nutrition portfolio I undertake recruitment and induction activities, and enable students to maximising the benefit of the university experience during their studies.

My main teaching roles include lecturing and module leadership in masters level modules and dissertation supervision. I am a registered dietitian and nutritionist and have previously worked in the NHS as a dietitian in both community and acute settings; this directly feeds into my teaching and research.

My research focusses on the socio-cultural aspects of food and nutrition and whole systems thinking by understanding the lived experience of individuals.
