Lecturer

Summary

Artist, Designer and Art Director - currently an 0.5 Lecturer across Levels 4, 5 and 6 in Graphic Design.

About

With a background in fine art, product design and illustration, academic qualifications in design and art direction and professional experience in type design, my visual communication practice is best classified as Art, Design and Art Direction.

I'm most interested in the potency and power of visual communication and how it shapes people, places and civilisations - and have become most known for exploring the semiotic relationship between Latin and Arabic scripts, as well as my experiments and innovations with Arabic type that are informed by regional and culturally appropriate historical references.

I am incredibly passionate about encouraging students to cultivate creative voices authentic to their own interests and carve career paths that best realise their own aspirations.
