Summary
Myriam has a PhD in Economics, specialising in International Trade. Her research interests are centred on trade, FDI, global value chains, and applied microeconometrics. Myriam worked as Deputy Director at the Mexican Ministry of Economy, where she was responsible for coordinating and negotiating free trade agreements and investment agreements with countries in the Latin American region. Myriam also worked as a Consultancy Manager, where she was responsible for leading consultancy projects related to regional trade agreements. She is currently a Lecturer in International Business at the Sheffield Business School. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and French, and she is passionate about languages and cultures.

Myriam has a PhD in Economics with a specialisation in International Trade. Her research interests are focused on trade, foreign direct investment, global value chains, and applied microeconometrics. In the past, Myriam worked as Deputy Director at the Mexican Ministry of Economy, where she was in charge of coordinating and negotiating free trade agreements and investment agreements with countries in the Latin American region. Myriam has also worked as a Consultancy Manager at an International Business consultancy firm in Mexico, where she was in charge of leading consultancy projects related to regional trade agreements and e-commerce, among others. Myriam also worked at ProMexico Trade and Investment in Spain, where she supported Mexican SMEs in developing their internationalisation strategy to enter the Spanish market.
Myriam currently works as a Lecturer in International Business at the Sheffield Business School. She is also the Recruitment Lead for International Business and Languages, and Collaborative Course Leader for KEDGE Business School (France). Myriam is also the Module Leader for the Consultancy Project in International Business module, which is a core module taught in the final year of the BA in International Business course and related courses (International Business with French or Spanish, and European Partnership Programme). As part of this module, she connects with companies based in South Yorkshire and supervises final-year students to conduct consultancy projects, aiming to create internationalisation strategies for these companies. Myriam has also been Module Leader for other modules (Managing Across Borders, Contemporary Issues in International Business modules, and International Business Consultancy Project Top-Up Course delivered at Botswana Accountancy College), aiming to inspire students to become responsible leaders and global citizens.
Myriam has lived and worked in nine different countries across three continents (Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom). She is passionate about languages and cultures. She speaks Spanish, English, and French fluently, as well as a bit of Italian and German.
