Summary

My clinical experience incorporates both primary and secondary care in the area of long term conditions. Experiences have included; general and respiratory medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, end of life care, practice development, practice nursing and being a Respiratory Nurse Specialist with responsibility for assessing and managing patients with long term conditions from diagnosis to end of life.The latter was as a member of the community long term conditions team, working across the primary and secondary care interface.

About

My current role is Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing. The role is multifaceted, incorporating collaborative working across all professional boundaries, whilst designing and providing evidence learning experiences across all field of practice at both pre and post registration level, including international levels.

My teaching remit is in areas such as respiratory care, principles and practice of health care, health and social care policy, clinical skills and mentorship. I utilising a variety of media such as simulation, blended learning, discovery learning, large group lectures, seminar groups, site visits, podcasting and discussion boards.

I am a module leader for one of the Post Graduate Diploma modules-Developing Relationship Centred Care: Science and Practice. I support learning in the practice setting by being clinically active and within my capacity as a University Link Lecturer. I also provide pastoral care within my capacity as academic advisor and personal tutor. I actively engage in recruitment and selection along with participating in the induction of students.

The lived experience of respiratory disease, pulmonary rehabilitation, pulmonary hypertension, concordance.
