Dr Olalekan Ojedokun



Olalekan is a Post-doctoral Researcher in the Centre for Infrastructure Management (CIM) at the Materials and Engineering Research Institute (MERI), Sheffield Hallam University. He holds a PhD in Construction Materials from Sheffield Hallam University. Olalekan joined Sheffield Hallam University in 2017. He specializes on geopolymer concrete and other construction materials.


Olalekan is working on an EPSRC (EP/P026206/1) funded project on the Enhanced rice milling and maximised valorisation of rice milling by-products

  1. Durability properties of geopolymer concrete
  2. Pore properties of alkali aluminosilicate gels
  3. Rheology control
  4. Waste valorisation by alkali-activation
  5. Durability testing methodologies for novel cements
  6. Validation of tests and performance prediction
  7. Performance-based standardisation


Current research is on Enhanced rice milling and maximised valorisation of rice milling by-products EPSRC (EP/P026206/1) funded by Innovate UK-India Governments. Collaborators on this project are Koolmill Systems Ltd., East End Foods Plc., Process Technologies Ltd., Marlow Foods Ltd., New Food Innovation Ltd.
