A strong education professional with a PhD in Social Sciences and an MSc in Transport Planning from the University of Leeds.

About

I joined Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) in February 2023. Before joining SHU, I worked as an Assistant Professor at the School of Planning and Architecture in Vijayawada, India, for five years. I also worked in various capacities with MNCs like URS Scott Wilson, Knight Frank and Lea Associates.

I received my undergraduate education in Geography at the University of Delhi, India and did a Master's in Geography from the Delhi School of Economics, India. I also hold a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from CEPT University, India and a Master's in Transport Planning from the University of Leeds, UK. I completed my PhD at the Sheffield University Management School.

My research interests are wide-ranging, including working on the informal economy, gender studies, logistics and urban poverty. I have published widely on various issues of street vendors, especially in the context of urban livelihoods and food security. I have also extensively published on planning inclusive cities for street vendors and the wider informal sector.
