About
Steve Thompson (BSc, MSc, ASCC) is an accredited S&C coach with the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA), is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the MSc in Strength and Conditioning Coaching at Sheffield Hallam University. He is also a PhD candidate majoring in Velocity Based Training (VBT), but specifically the use of load-velocity profiling to aid load prescription. Thompson is an active researcher, with multiple publications involving international collaborations in high-impact journals such as Sports Medicine, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance. He currently holds multiple S&C consultancy roles, including GB Diving, and a Championship Football Academy. Thompson has worked in elite sport for many years, specifically with GB Commonwealth medallists, Olympic competitors and professional athletes in Diving, Women's Volleyball, Para-Fencing, Table Tennis, Golf and Soccer.
