Stewart Hilland

Stewart Hilland

Senior Lecturer

Summary

I have a senior management background in primary and secondary education, and have organised a wide range of exhibitions, conferences, ceremonies and international sports and arts events within the education sector. I have worked in South-East Asia, in Europe and the UK.

In 2006, I gained an MSc with distinction from the UK Centre for Events Management at Leeds Metropolitan University and also received the overall prize for outstanding academic achievement during the course.  I have been part of the events management teaching team in the Sheffield Business School since 2008 and currently lead on modules relating to business research and strategic management.

My research interests centre on public sector event strategy and outcomes as well as teaching, learning and assessment in the higher education classroom. I was one of the University's Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) Associates in 2016 and created an academic writing toolkit, which has since been disseminated across the university.
