Dr. Toyin Aderiye CMBE, CIWFM, MCIPD, FHEA

Associate Head

Summary

Toyin is the Associate Head in the Business, Management and People Division of Sheffield Business School. In her role, she works on academic operations across the Business School to flexibly deploy staff, ensures the effective management of resources, and leads on academic quality standards; all to optimise the use of the diverse skills of team members and facilitate collaboration both within the division and across the Business School. She also works with the Division Head to create an inclusive, progressive and high performing culture to support strategic objectives and the implementation of key projects and initiatives. In addition, Toyin works with the central SHU team to ensure delivery of Sheffield Business School’s new suite of online courses.

Her PhD focused on Organisational Culture and Socialisation with a focus on FM ‘Cultural Fit’, outsourcing and cultural integration. She is from an industry background with over 10 years’ experience prior to joining Sheffield Hallam University. She is interested in the effects culture, motivation, people and service have on organisations particularly in workplaces. She is also interested in multidisciplinary research as they create richer results and have the potential for wider influence and reach. A strong believer in applied research, she is mostly interested in the dual concepts of people and place.
