Pam Bowman
Pam is Portfolio Director for Art and Design. She began working with the Gallery at the Psalter Lane campus four years ago and is now on the Gallery committee
1. What part of your past has proved most useful in getting you where you are now?
Obviously education has helped a lot but also keeping in contact with many graduates over the years who have ended up in some extraordinary places. Contacts like this have been very useful and inspirational.
2. Which forthcoming exhibition are you most looking forward to at the SIA Gallery?
Frazer Hudson is planning an exhibition of his work from the last 20 years which is very exciting.
3. Describe yourself in three words
Patient, unflappable and typophile.
4. What do you enjoy doing when you're away from work?
Kids, family and an obsession with typography take up my spare time.
5. What is your favourite piece of art?
Currently I’m reading lots of Shelley.
6. Who inspires you?
Many, many people - too many to choose between!
7. What is the best advice you have received during your career?
That most people are nice and not to be nervous about approaching people, even those who you may be in awe of.
