Hospitality alumni networking event

Former and current hospitality students, as well as academic staff from Sheffield Hallam were given an insight into life as a Managing Director when they gathered in London for the Sheffield Business School's annual Hospitality alumni networking event.
Kindly sponsored by food services and contract caterers Compass Group the event included a keynote speech from Group Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, Ian Sarson.
Ian told the audience about his first 90 days in the role and his vision for the business.
He said: 'I've been involved with Sheffield Hallam for quite some time and was honoured to present an update on Compass and my first seven months at the company.
'It was great to meet the enthusiastic students and alumni working in the hospitality industry and to offer my advice. If I can do it then anybody can.'
Tower 42 in the heart of London's financial district was this year's venue. As one of the tallest buildings in the area, attendees were treated to panoramic views and a stunning sunset over the City from the top-floor champagne bar, Vertigo.
