How to Save Our Planet: The Facts

We are excited to welcome Professor Mark Maslin to Sheffield Hallam University for a guest talk and question and answer session based on his ground-breaking handbook for climate action, How to Save Our Planet: The Facts. This is an opportunity to hear about and discuss the latest science and impacts of climate change, COP26, what governments, organisations and individuals can do to take action, and the road to COP27.

Mark Maslin is a Professor of Earth System Science at University College London. He is the former Director of the UCL Environment Institute and a leading voice in the battle against climate change.

Mark’s areas of scientific expertise include understanding the causes of past and future climate change, and the environmental challenges facing humanity in the 21st century. Mark has published over 175 papers in journals such as Science, Nature and The Lancet, and is the author of eight popular books including The Human Planet, Cradle of Humanity and this year’s Big Read book, How to Save Our Planet: The Facts.

The event will conclude with refreshments and a book signing with Professor Maslin in our newly refurbished Atrium space at the heart of City Campus. Free copies of How to Save Our Planet: The Facts will be available.

The event is free and open to all students, staff, alumni and friends of Hallam. Mark's talk and the question and answer session will be streamed online.
