This year, staff, students and alumni will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon in support of Sanctuary Scholarships as part of the Hallam Fund on Sunday 26 September 2021. By joining our team, you will be removing the barriers faced by students seeking asylum in the UK. 

The Sanctuary Scholarships, which are match funded by the University, recognise the determination, aspirations and resilience of asylum seeking students and their academic abilities and potential to succeed. Consisting of a full tuition fee waiver, an annual maintenance grant of £4000, and a bespoke package of tailored support, the scholarships aim to remove the barriers facing asylum seeking students, so they have a real opportunity to transform their lives through education.
