This summer the BMRC hosted Jess Talbot, one of our talented undergraduate Human Biology students, to work on a project with Dr Daniel Kelly and Dr Nick Peake to investigate adipocyte-derived extracellular vesicles in cardiometabolic disease through the development of a 3D adipose model. This studentship was supported by the Society for Endocrinology in a valuable scheme that promotes student development and allows them to gain some real-life research experience.

Dr Kelly commented: "The eight weeks went very fast, our adipocytes models have progressed generating some data to process for future grant applications, but the real success has been watching Jess flourish and completely develop into a researcher".
