Thanks to RSC/BMSS/ChromSoc funding, the BMRC was able to offer two SHU chemistry students a 6-week summer studentship.

Simona Francese was looking after Cameron Heaton, a final year chemist, while Catherine Duckett took Lizzie Griffin, a second year chemist, under her wings. Their respective projects were 'Investigation into cross contamination in fingermarks by MALDI MS' and ‘Metalloprotein profiling from dried blood spots by SEC-HPLC-ICPMS, for clinical application in human health and disease’.

It was a pleasure to work with both students and we are wishing them both well for their future endeavours!
