Lecturer Dan Kelly and PhD student Lauren Bateman attended this year’s Endocrine Society’s conference ENDO 2019 which took place in New Orleans, USA, between 23-26 March.

Both, Dan and Lauren, presented posters and were selected for an oral guided presentation. Dan’s poster was entitled 'Supra-Physiological Testosterone Treatment Reduces Aortic Atheroma but Increases Markers of Cardiac Hypertrophy' and Lauren’s was 'Testosterone Reduces Expression of Inflammatory Targets in Human Macrophages as a Potential Mechanism to Improve Atherosclerosis'. Lauren’s attendance of this conference was partly made possible by a travel grant from the Bayer Healthcare AG.

Both also attended the Androgen Society’s annual meeting, also taking place in New Orleans the two previous days, 21-22 March. Dan was invited speaker to this meeting and gave a talk on 'The science of testosterone in cardiometabolic disease'. The Androgen Society partly funded Dan’s trip.
