Making recruitment easy for Pricecheck
Pricecheck is a wholesale distributor of clearance branded products that has been trading since 1978.
The Sheffield-based company is a keen supporter of graduate recruitment. Of their 68 staff, 25 are graduates and three of those have been with the company for well over a decade.
As the company continues to grow, the challenge they face is finding enough work-ready graduates with the personal and professional attributes to join their family-run team.
Our employability service believes that SME's offer students a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience of the workplace. Pricecheck is always keenly promoted around the campus and a fantastic working relationship has developed between us over the last few years.
As a result of this, Pricecheck has begun offering year-long work placements to our students. Each year five Sheffield Hallam candidates go and work at the company's HQ, developing practical skills and gaining experience to help them find employment when they graduate.
Although Pricecheck recruit from a number of universities, the Sheffield Hallam graduates have usually completed a work placement year as part of their course, which gives them the edge in terms of work experience and employment prospects within the company.
Over the last five years, Pricecheck has recruited eight of our graduates into various roles - two into IT, two into buying roles, two into sales support and two into sales.
