What is the Career Readiness Questionnaire?
The Career Readiness Questionnaire (CRQ) is a short questionnaire designed to help you reflect on where you are in your career development and provides you with tailored careers and employability support and resources that are most relevant to you.
Whether you’ve not started thinking about your future, looking for work experience, ready to apply for professional opportunities, or already got your next steps confirmed, the CRQ helps us to understand your current stage in career planning so that we can support you to take your next steps with confidence.
The questionnaire only takes a few minutes to complete and can be updated at any time during the academic year as your career thinking changes.
How does it work?
The CRQ asks you four short questions about:
-
Current stage in career planning – where you feel you are in planning for your future after Sheffield Hallam University
- Employability enhancing experience – the work experience you have undertaken in the last 12 months
- Interest in a placement year OR graduate support – your interest in doing a placement year as part of your degree (for first and second year undergraduates) or whether you would like to be contacted about on-going graduate support (for final year undergraduates and postgraduate students)
- Careers support needed – the type of careers support you would like from your careers and employability service over the coming academic year
Why should I complete it?
- Completing the CRQ provides you with personalised careers resources and support that are tailored to your needs
- Allows you to regularly reflect on your career development and allows you to identify any employability support required
- Working through the career's resources and accessing the available support, you will become confident and prepared to take your next steps after graduation
