Putting transition in its place; Energy transitions and place

Time: 1:00-2.00 pm

Speakers:

Venue: Cantor Building, Room 9128 / Teams

Abstract

Place based factors have a significant influence on how the prospect of transitioning to clean energy is received and responded to in communities. Fuels traditionally used in some areas have deeply shaped local cultures, ways of life and economies and strong allegiances to fuels can form that introduce complexity to the move to clean energy. In this seminar we explore how place-based factors interact with clean energy transitions and share policy learning on how greater sensitivity to place can be built into transition policy and implementation.
