What will I study on an economics course?
Our undergraduate economics students study macroeconomics to an advanced level, and get a thorough grounding in microeconomics, econometrics and statistics. Elective modules include financial markets, management, behavioural economics and foreign languages.
With a strong vocational focus – including a third-year work placement and a final-year consultancy project – you'll gain transferable skills and valuable work experience alongside your degree.
What qualifications do you need to study economics at university?
Our undergraduate economics courses generally start from 96 to 112 UCAS points. If you don’t meet these, you can apply for a foundation year, which typically starts from 64 UCAS points.
For postgraduate study at Sheffield Hallam, you’ll usually need a relevant undergraduate degree at 2:2 or above.
