Students can apply to receive financial support from Student Finance England when trailing placement or repeating teaching. We are required to report the dates that students will be attending placement/study to SFE, and they will reduce the amount of funding that students can receive for the year to cover the periods they attend. This creates a delay in students receiving their financial support as we are unable to ask Student Finance England to release funds until the student has been reassessed. We are required to delay registration confirmation in situations such as this where students are likely to receive overpayments.
If you expect to undertake placement or teaching beyond September 1st, you will need to apply for financial support in the normal way and once approved we can submit details of your attendance (once available) to Student Finance England. During peak periods Student Finance England can take around 30 working days to process notifications.
