This lecture explores the U.S.–Mexico border not just as a geographical line, but as a global political actor.

From its establishment in the aftermath of empire and war, to its complex role during slavery and its connection to the Nazis, this lecture traces the border’s entanglements in revolution, anarchist networks, the Vietnam War, and Asian politics.

In this lecture, we will see the U.S-Mexico border as a crucial site in world history and international politics.
