Our welcome webpages guide you through pre-uni preparation, the enrolment process and navigating your first few days and weeks.
Insider’s guide
We'll also send you a booklet full of key information and practical tips, including campus maps and advice from current students. Look out for it in the post after your place is confirmed.
Hallam Welcome Module
In the weeks leading up to your start date, we'll send you a link to a comprehensive elearning module.
It's an even deeper dive into life at Hallam, including student support, wellbeing, finance, accommodation, safety, sport and the Students’ Union.
Academic skills development
To help you prepare for studying at university level, we'll send you a course that helps you assess your skills and create a development plan.
It will also tell you about support from our Library's skills centre, including help with independent learning, academic writing and research skills.
Course welcome guide
Your course guide arrives shortly after your enrolment email. It includes your induction schedule, an introduction to your course leader and everything else you'll need to get started.
You’ll also have the opportunity to attend course-specific activities to help further develop your skills and build your confidence.
Welcome Week
Welcome Week is where university life really begins! There are social events and activities on campus and online, including fairs, tours and opportunities to get to know your coursemates.
Delivered in partnership with Hallam Students' Union, it is a great way to meet other students and settle into student life.

When you join Sheffield Hallam you’ll automatically become a member of our Students' Union, giving you access to societies, workshops, volunteering and work opportunities, as well as representation from your elected Student Officers.
