We have a number of initiatives to support you however you travel to work including rail season ticket loans, and discounts on travel and parking.

Rail Season Tickets

We are partnered with Northern Rail and offer our staff the opportunity to purchase an annual season ticket for personal rail travel at any time (including evenings and weekends) between two chosen stations. Staff benefit from receiving 52 weeks rail travel for the price of 40 (with any operator) and spread the cost of the ticket by making repayments through your salary over 10 months.

Discounted Travel

Stagecoach Monthly Megariders are available to SHU staff for a discount of 5% at current prices.

Valid on all Stagecoach Sheffield Bus services and Stagecoach Supertram routes. For more information on Megarider tickets please visit the Stagecoach website.

First Mainline Monthly Ticket; available to SHU staff for a discount of 5% at current prices.

Valid on all First Bus services running within Sheffield. For more information on First Monthly tickets please visit the First Group website.

Cycling

Recognising the fantastic health and environmental benefits of cycling, Sheffield Hallam supports its cyclists though several initiatives and encourages others to get pedalling.

Cycling facilities

The University provides cycling facilities for both staff and students, with over 600 storage spaces across both campuses. There are also shower and changing facilities located across both campuses.

Cycle to Work Scheme

We offer a generous cycle to work scheme where staff can save between 25 to 39% on bikes and accessories up to a value of £1000 or your monthly gross salary, whichever is the highest. For more information and to find your nearest store, please visit the Cycle Scheme website.

Bike Rehab

Set up by previous Sheffield Students, bike service and repair company Bike Rehab are offering staff  a 10% discount on their service labour packages and a free bike safety check.
