The Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) are the largest annual awards in the UK where the outcome is decided exclusively by students.

The University has also been shortlisted for its cost-of-living support, which is not decided via student reviews.
Sheffield Hallam’s cost-of-living support is shaped by student insight, ensuring provision responds to real financial and wellbeing challenges. Support includes targeted scholarships, hardship funding, food vouchers and laptop provision to address financial and digital poverty. Initiatives co-created with the Students’ Union, including community food schemes and low-cost campus options to ensure broad access to support.
Professor Liz Mossop, Vice-Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University, said: “It's fantastic to see our university recognised in nine categories at the 2026 Whatuni Student Choice Awards.
These nominations reflect the dedication of our staff and, most importantly, the voices of our students, whose experiences are at the heart of everything we do. To be recognised in this way is a testament to our shared commitment to delivering outstanding teaching, support and opportunities that empower our students to succeed. We are incredibly grateful to our student community for their positive feedback.”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in May.
