Over three themed sessions, Keith Wilson is hosting a conversation with Ken Arnold (Wellcome Collection) who will reflect on his experience of audience development, exhibition making and commissioning new artistic research through his time at the Wellcome. On each occasion very much framed by considering where both his, and the wider organisation's, thinking might go from here.  The three themes are House, University and The Global Institution.

2. UNIVERSITY

The making of an explorative light-touch institutional space at the interface of HE and FE, utilising the Wellcome Collection’s expertise in visual and material culture to build an environment where a rich variety of cross-over learning might take place. Like a health and well-being foundation course, how might such a model change practices at both school and university level?

Ken Arnold has worked in a variety of museums on both sides of the Atlantic. He now runs the programme of events and exhibitions atWellcome Collection, a young but ambitious venue that explores the human condition through connections between medicine, art and life. He joined Wellcome in 1992 after completing his Ph.D. on the history of museums. He regularly writes, lectures and broadcasts on museums and on contemporary interactions between the arts and sciences. He also serves on a number of advisory boards and committees and was a visiting professor at the University of Copenhagen in the summers of 2010 and 2012. In 2011 he was awarded the RSA Bicentenary medal. In 2006 he published Cabinets for the Curious and is currently writing a book on exhibitions and public knowledge.
