The Culture and Creativity Research Institute is Sheffield Hallam University's largest and highest rated community of researchers.
It continues the work of the former Cultural, Communication and Computing Research Institute, a large majority of whose work was recognised in the 2008 UK Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) as being of international significance.
The institute is all about making connections – bringing together specialisms in art, design, media production, communication studies, computing and engineering into the University's largest community of researchers.
The institute includes several research centres and groups:
- Art, Design and Media Research Centre: Arts-led applied research that interacts with, and transforms, society and culture.
- Centre for Culture, Media and Society: Theoretical and applied research into a range of cultural, social and media practices.
- Humanities Research Centre: Research, applied knowledge and creative practice in English, history and stage and screen.
- Lab4Living: An interdisciplinary group undertaking world-leading research in design for health.
The Culture and Creativity Research Institute provides a business focused consultancy and research service to businesses through our dedicated Knowledge Transfer team.
