Duration: 4.5 hours (excluding coffee break and lunch)

Overview of the workshop

This workshop is divided into two parts.

The first part will introduce typical image processing algorithms such as filtering, segmentation and morphology, as well as computer vision algorithms such as feature detection and object location that are generally employed in a machine vision system in an industrial application. A particular focus will be given to the food industry.

The second part of the workshop will deliver hands-on examples of computer vision programming. The attendees will be guided through a step by step tutorial and will be asked to implement and run some of the algorithms presented in the first part.

Programme

9.30-10.30: Introduction, image pre-processing and filtering, edge detection.

1030-10.45: Coffee break

10.45-12.15: Binary imaging, image morphology, shapes and contours, object recognition, motion, stereo vision, 3D vision

12.15-13.00: Lunch break

13.00-15.00: Hands-on lab tutorials

The cost of this workshop is £250 per person. To find out more information please contact Yuvini Hettiarachchi on 0114 225 3502 or Fabio Caparrelli on 0114 225 3277.
