I joined Sheffield Hallam in 1994, following degrees in Physics from Bristol and postdoctoral work in Chemistry at Southampton. Since then, I have taught and assessed at all levels and have developed a particular interest in PhD supervision. Having supervised over 20 doctorates to completion, I now lead the University's doctoral provision across all disciplines.

I am a researcher on the meSch project. I specialise in the development of large scale, high-volume, multilingual web applications.

How people make use of and interact with technology, issues associated with new media and society, and issues associated with social interaction, are areas of research that I'm interested in.

I am a Senior Lecturer working within the Sheffield Institute of Arts where I teach on the BA Product Design and Product Design: Furniture courses. I am also actively involved as a design researcher in the Art and Design Research Centre
