He enjoys in the inherently cross-disciplinary nature of digital device and service design, and how digital technology can mediate the transition from users who are unfamiliar with a technology to users who effectively benefit from it.

I have twenty years of experience as a criminologist and currently hold the position of Associate Head in the Institute of Law and Justice. I am an experienced lecturer who has led undergraduate and postgraduate courses in law, criminology, policing and human rights and also supervise several PhD students. My main areas of research interest are in criminal justice technologies and police reform, as well as organised and complex criminality.

I joined Sheffield Hallam University in January 2022, after working at the University of Sheffield. My research interests focus on children's academic attainment, behaviour, mental health, wellbeing, and the professional development of maths and science teachers. I am also passionate about music education, children's engagement with music, and its impact.
