Sport Hardship Fund
We offer eligible students support to take part in student sport and physical activity through a Sport Hardship Fund with our Student's Union. The Sport Hardship Fund assists students with the financial costs of taking part in Sport Hallam Club Sport or Participation activity - predominantly supporting with membership and joining costs. The Sport Hallam Fund does not cover financial support for kit, equipment, or travel reimbursement. Further financial support for such items can be found on the Cost of Living Support for Students page.
To apply you will need to complete a short application form. All applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and will remain confidential. Sport Hallam, Student's Union, and the Sheffield Hallam University Funding Team review the applications and will contact you with the outcome. The Sport Hardship Fund will be available to apply for at the beginning of Semester 1 and Semester 2.
Timeline
- Application window opens 12th September 2025 at 08:00 am.
- Application window closes 1st October 2025 at 08:00 am.
- Applications will be reviewed by Sport Hallam, Wellbeing, Sport & Physical Activity Officer & Student Funding team
- Outcomes of applications will be shared from W/C 13th October onwards
