How and when to apply for accommodation

We guarantee to find you a place to stay in your first year when you apply before 1 August 2021*. You’ll live with other Hallam students, in popular student areas near our campuses.

You can apply online for accommodation as soon as you have an offer to study here. 

Applications for 2021/22 Academic Year 

Apply online now for accommodation as a first year or current (returning) Sheffield Hallam student.

We guarantee to offer you a place in halls* and our flexible application process means that you are under no obligation to accept any room offered, will not be asked to pay a deposit when applying or sign a contact until your results are confirmed!

Using the online system

Step 1: register - you will need your student ID, you will find it on an email from us. If you are applying through clearing you will be issued with a Student ID once you have accepted your course offer through UCAS Track. Before this you can use your CLR number, replacing the CLR with an X. Once registered you will receive an email containing your validation code. You only need to register online for accommodation once.

Step 2: login - using your email address, password, and validation code.

Step 3: Select four halls you would like to apply for. Remember, you might not be offered your first choice, so make sure you are happy with all of your selections.
