Introduction
This module is designed for practitioners to develop the underlying cognitive and practical skills required for safe and effective application of injection treatment for musculoskeletal disorders.

- Those working in or towards enhanced or advanced practice roles
What you’ll learn
This module will develop non-medical clinicians with regulatory body and employer support with advanced neuromusculoskeletal pathophysiology knowledge, assessment skills and expert clinical reasoning to identify safe patient selection and application of peripheral intra- and peri-articular injection therapy. It will also develop critical thinking in the evaluation of injection therapy practice

How you’ll learn
You’ll learn through a mix of practical and theory based sessions, focussing on development of applied musculoskeletal skills. You will be required to be self-motivated with independent study (under guidance). You will often work in physical or remote groups, with frequent opportunities for peer and formative assessment. In addition, you will complete a minimum of 10 supervised injections in clinical practice with your mentor.

Entry requirements
Applicants will hold a first degree or professional qualification which is recognised in the UK in a related health care subject.
Applicants must usually have 24 months full time (or equivalent part time) experience managing and treating musculoskeletal dysfunction and normally be working in a relevant role.
Within your application you should confirm that you have a supervisor who has at least 2 years of musculoskeletal injection therapy experience. In addition, applicants are required to confirm that the supervisor/ organisation they are working in has an appropriate medicines framework in place in order to supply the necessary injectable medicines. This will take the form of either a Patient Specific direction (PSD) or a Patient Group Direction (PGD).

Attendance
Delivery Method:
Taught on Collegiate Campus. All teaching, learning activities and assessments take place on Collegiate Campus. Sessions are fully timetabled, and student attendance is expected for all scheduled teaching. We will require all non-British and non-Irish students to attend campus for an in-person verification check to comply with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements at the start of their first module.
